Starting Age - We accept piano students as early as 5 years old and as late as 100! 

Instrument - keyboards are okay to learn on  for beginners, but they must have at least 72 keys (weighted is best) and an appropriate piano bench to sit on while practicing. 

Materials - Each piano student receives a free notebook during their first lesson that is used to list what pieces they are playing, their practice log, and any extra notes from the teacher. It must be brought to class every week, and if lost, it is the parent's responsibility to replace it. All other books, and practice materials should be ordered through the academy, and if purchased elsewhere must have teacher approval. The cost of these will be added to the next month's invoice. 

Additional Recommendations -  students should have a bag to carry  their materials in each week.

Starting Age- We accept guitar students as early as 8 years old and as late as 100! 

Instrument- ½ or ¾ size guitars are often useful for younger students, but check with your instructor about what size is best for your student. 

Materials- Each guitar student receives a free notebook during their first lesson that is used to list what pieces they are playing, their practice log, and any extra notes from the teacher. It must be brought to class every week, and if lost, it is the parent's responsibility to replace it. All other books, and practice materials will be ordered through The Academy, and if purchased elsewhere must have teacher approval. The cost of these will be added to the next month's invoice. 

Additional Recommendations - Students should have a case for their guitar, picks, and a tuner. 

Drum Set/ Percussion

Drum Set/ Percussion

Starting Age- We accept drum set students as early as 6 years old and as late as 100! 

Instrument- Electric kits are okay for beginners, but check with your instructor for approval before purchasing. 

Materials- Each percussion student receives a free notebook during their first lesson that is used to list what pieces they are playing, their practice log, and any extra notes from the teacher. It must be brought to class every week, and if lost, it is the parent's responsibility to replace it. A pair of drumsticks either 2a or 2b. All other books, and practice materials will be ordered through The Academy, and if purchased elsewhere must have teacher approval. The cost of these will be added to the next month's invoice. 

Additional Recommendations - There are no additional requirements for drum set.

Voice

Starting Age- We accept voice students as early as 5  years old and as late as 100! 

Instrument- Taking care of your instrument is always important but especially when that instrument is your voice. It is very important to stay hydrated!

Materials - A black three-ring binder, and an inexpensive keyboard. 

Additional Recommendations - There are no additional requirements for voice.

Starting Age- as early as 15, depending on prior knowledge. (can start earlier depending on  theory proficiency exam) 

Instrument- Intermediate proficiency in your primary instrument is required, but we will discuss more orchestration as lessons progress. 

Materials- Three-ring binder, pencil, and a laptop with free notation software such as musescore. 

Additional Recommendations - Completion of our Theory I Group Course, or our theory proficiency exam (given in person), is required.

Starting Age- as early as 16, depending on prior knowledge. 

Instrument- Intermediate proficiency in one primary instrument is recommended. 

Materials-  A laptop with free music recording software such as ProTools Intro. 

Additional Recommendations - Completion of our Theory I Group Course, or our theory proficiency exam (given in person), is recommended.

Offered for those aged 9 months-2 years, and 3years-4years, our Little Musicians Family Music Classes explore the foundations of music through rhythms, melodies, group movement and more!

Our group theory courses are designed to help students achieve a deeper understanding of how music works and why! 

These classes are geared to adults interested in helping themselves or their children, as well as teens looking towards applying to music degree programs, but are open to anyone aged 14 and up.
